Lyme Regis ArtsFest

Exhibitions, Sculpture Trail, Workshops & Events

17th September – 2nd October

To celebrate its 14th year, Lyme Regis ArtsFest 2016 will be both longer and larger than ever before, running for 16 days from 17 September until 2 October with even more artwork on show in galleries, open studios and public spaces.  In fact, ArtsFest officially launched earlier this summer with the first sculptures of an open-air Sculpture Trail being erected in June in Lyme’s public gardens. Additional sculptures will be added over the summer, and smaller works will be on display in the Langmoor and Lister Rooms on the seafront during ArtsFest itself.

This year’s theme is ‘Identity’, and it is proving to be a potent stimulus for ArtsFest members, as well as young artists in local schools and colleges.  The thought-provoking and moving artwork that they have created will be exhibited at The Town Mill’s Courtyard and Malthouse Galleries.

More general, un-themed artwork by popular local artists will be on display at the Baptist Church Hall (17-25 Sept only), and there will be a full schedule of workshops, open studios in and around Lyme where one can see the artists in action, and an Art Trail featuring artists’ works on show in Lyme businesses and shops.  The Jubilee Pavilion on the seafront will act as an open studio for several artists as well as hosting arts and crafts markets on each of the three weekends.
